FIELDTRACKER

In this article we will cover the FieldCentral “FieldTracker” for both FieldCentral Tracker (powered by Azuga) users and non FieldCentral Tracker users. Including how the map can be used for both to provide critical crew information.

Need to find out a crews’ historical visit information? Perhaps you would like to know if your crews are speeding, hard breaking or maybe just what time a visit took place. What about needing to know where a crew is currently, in order to provide a status update on an upcoming visit? The FieldTracker within FieldCentral is here to help you answer these questions by giving you historical breadcrumbs (FieldCentral Tracker) and timely visit statuses within a map view.

Once you have logged into your FieldCentral account, navigate to the “FieldTracker” via the main menu.

At a quick glance, FieldCentral Tracker users will see your crews identified on the left hand panel & on the map. In addition, you will notice color coded pins within the map that represent the selected days visits and their locations. The color of the pin will correspond to which crew is assigned that visit. Users will also see the breadcrumb path of each crew, in addition to the start and end points of each trip identified by green and red dots respectively.

For non FieldCentral Tracker users, you will still see your crews on the left side panel and corresponding visit pins within the map but you will not see the current location of that vehicle displayed as an icon within the map. Additionally, non FieldCentral Tracker users will not see the breadcrumb path or events.

Regardless of which user you are, it would be helpful to review the map legend to familiarize yourself with the information displayed. Here you will find which colors correspond to which visit statuses and which event icons correspond to which events.

NOTE: Events are only available for FieldCentral Tracker users

To get the most out of this page, let's review the various settings on the left hand side.

  • Date: Select the current date or a previous date
  • Crews: Select or multi select from the list of crews to filter which appear within the map. If no selection is made, the default is all crews.
  • Auto Refresh?: When checked, the page will auto refresh every 2 minutes. If a user interacts with the page inside of 1 minute, the countdown will load back up to a full 1 minute. The page will only auto refresh if the user is inactive on the page for at least 1 full minute.
  • Reframe Map on Refresh? When checked, the map will reframe to capture all selected crews. This will be true for both manual and auto refresh.
    • It is advised that if you are actively zooming in to look at a crew's details that users uncheck this option so they are not pulled back out into the full map view.

  • Show Events?: *FieldCentral Tracker users* When checked, each crew will show any events that take place and display the corresponding icon. Admin users can further investigate as needed.
    • If zoomed out on the map, users may want to opt not to display these for a cleaner visual experience, depending on the number of crews and how spread out they are within the map.
    • *Note, users can still hover over a visit path and confirm if any events took place that may need further investigation.
    • These events include:
      • Acceleration
      • Hard Breaking
      • Possible Collision
      • Idling
      • Speeding
      • Lost Communication

  • Show Breadcrumbs? *FieldCentral Tracker users* When checked, each crew's path will display its breadcrumbs to quickly identify in which order were the visits addressed.
    • If zoomed out on the map, users may want to opt not to display these for a cleaner visual experience, depending on the number of crews and how spread out they are within the map.

To manually refresh the data displayed on the map, simply click the “Retrieve/Refresh” button. The most recent refresh timestamp will be displayed at the bottom of the left hand panel.

If you are not a FieldCentral Tracker user, you will not be able to view a crew's live breadcrumb path within the map. However, as your crews utilize the FieldCentral mobile app to time in/out of visits, those visit statuses will update on the left hand panel in real time in addition to the visit pins within the map.

This can still provide admin users with timely up to date information on crews and visit statuses.

When you hover over the pin, you are provided some additional information around the visit.

If desired, the crew color can also be manually overridden and set within Settings > People > Crews and then selecting the desired crew.

It is important to note that the time displayed is local to the admin user.

Additionally, if a crew loses reception, the last web sync will be the visit status displayed until they are able to web sync again. When they are able to web sync again, the most recent visit status will be updated to display.

FieldCentral Tracker users: Need to adjust which events you are alerted to? Click the Azuga Icon on the bottom left of the page to be directed to the Azuga portal in order to update these settings.

What are some common scenarios for utilizing this page and its information?

Live Feed Display: View current location of all crews on an office monitor for all dispatchers to see at any given time.

Suggested Settings: For this option, users will likely want to ensure that the “auto-refresh” option is selected and likely will want to remove the events and breadcrumbs from the view to keep the visual appeal of the page clear.

Review Crew History: Look back to a previous day for route or visit information.

Suggested Settings: In this case, users would want to ensure that they have removed the check for “reframe on refresh” option so the map does not resent while they are looking into any information. For this instance, users will likely want to have events and breadcrumbs displayed, depending on what information they are wanting to review.

Live Feed with Interaction: Actively interact with the map throughout the day to pull specific information about a crew’s location and/or status.

Suggested Settings: In this case, the user will likely want the auto-refresh selected and depending on if they are actively interacting with the map or not they will opt to reframe on refresh or not. Additionally, the user may or may not want to have Events and Breadcrumbs displayed depending on the information they are in search of at that moment.
