SCHEDULING: "SELECT AN ACTION"

In this article we will cover, at an overview level, the “Select an Action” drop down menu, located on the Schedule page of FieldCentral.


Knowing the options you have at your disposal for managing the schedule and the visits within it is key to your success. 


Once you have logged into your FieldCentral web account and located the schedule page, users will see the “Select an Action” drop down located on the right hand side, under the 2 month calendar. 

Lets review each of these options one by one so that users have an understanding of the tools available to them within this menu.

  1. Shift/Rain Day: Shifts each scheduled day until the stopping point of your choosing. Selecting this option will automatically make Saturday a workday.  
  2. Cancel a Day: Cancels the entire day. If selecting this option, it is important to note that this WILL NOT move the visits to Visits to Do, they will be removed completely. 
  3. Route a Day: Choose the start and end points of the day and the scheduled visits will be reordered in the optimal route.
  4. Map a Day: Shows the visits in order within a map view.
  5. Adjust Visits to Start of the Day: Brings all of the visits up to the start time and all appointments become back to back.
  6. Move Day: Will move one scheduled day to another crew or keep the same crew and move visits to another selected day. Users can also move all future visits to another crew if a technician leaves the company. 
  7. Show Business Hours: Show the full 24 hour day or the set business hours. 
  8. Swap Day: Used to either swap a techs within the same day or swap one techs scheduled days. Ex 1: Crew 1 gets Crew 2 scheduled visits and Crew 2 gets Crew 1 visits. Ex 2: Crew 1 swapping all scheduled visits from the 13th to the 14th, bringing all the 14th visits to the 13th.
