Updating Hindsite

Preparation

  1. Log into the Hindsite server computer
  2. Log into Hindsite using your credentials.

Update Process

  1. Log into Hindsite and navigate to Help > About
  1. Press F2 to open the application information menu (refer to image1.png).
  2. Verify that only one account is logged in. If other users are logged in, select their
    accounts and click Force Users Out (refer to image2.png).
  3. Select Update this Program.
  4. When prompted to create a backup, save it in the default directory (e.g., C:\Hindsight\Backups)
    • Note: If the backup fails, contact the system administrator before proceeding.
  5. Follow the prompts to download and install the update.
  6. After the update, relaunch Hindsight. Wait for the “Upgrading Database” message at the bottom of the screen to
    complete (refer to image3.png).
    • Note: If the database upgrade takes longer than 10 minutes, restart the application and try again.

Webservice install

  1. If you get the pop up saying to stop services you will want to launch services and stop the (UltiDev Web Server Pro, UWS HiPriv Services, UWS LoPriv Services)
  1. Follow prompts to install the webservices and
  2. Restart the services after and select Ok.

Hindsite connect Install

  1. Once you launch Hindsite it will prompt you to update the connect service, select yes and let it install. When the update is done you will get a pop up on the bottom left.

Validation

  1. Log in to Hindsight from a workstation and verify the following:
    • The application launches without errors.
    • Key features (e.g., reports, data entry) are accessible.
    • Recent data is intact.
    • Note: If access issues occur, contact the system administrator.
